Rose Hill Primary School

My name is Liz Healey and I am currently Assistant Headteacher at Tytherington School in Cheshire, where I have worked for 14 years.  I have been a Governor at Rose Hill since 2018, taking on the role of Chair in January 2020.  Prior to that I was a  Governor at another primary school for 6 years and have a lot of experience of school performance, safeguarding and special needs/inclusion. 

I am passionate about helping young people achieve their potential through education and ensuring youngsters have the best opportunities to succeed, whilst growing into responsible and caring individuals.  I am really looking forward to working with the children, staff and families within the local community.

My name is Lauren Handley and I have been a teacher at Rose Hill Primary School since 2018. 

I have worked in both upper key stage two and lower key stage two and have enjoyed leading Geography, helping to transform it into one of our 'gold' subjects.  Alongside this, I have enjoyed running a 'Fairtrade' group, which successfully won the 'FairAware' Award and has given me the opportunity to work with the local community, such as the Marple Co-Op and the Stockport Fairtrade group.

I am also a member of our PTA, where I have helped bring together parents, teachers and children to raise funds and strengthen the school community.  All students, in my opinion, need to have a clear grasp of what is expected of them and what they should be doing, as well as how they may use and enhance the learning environment to support their learning. 

My name is Lindsey Kelly and I became a parent governor at Rose Hill in November 2022.  I live in Marple with my family, my son currently attends Rose Hill and my daughter will (hopefully) follow in due course.  

I am an experienced HR professional, currently working as a HR Manager for an international law firm, and I hope to be able to draw on my experience and skills to be an effective parent governor. 

I wanted to become a parent governor because I am passionate about our school, both because I am a product of the school myself, with fond memories of my time there as a child, and because it is/will be my children's school.  I look forward to being involved in helping to shape the present, and future, of a school which is important to me personally, and to our community in Marple.

My name is Louise Openshaw and I have been a parent governor at Rose Hill since January 2023.  My daughter has attended Rose Hill Primary School since Nursery and my younger daughter will also be starting in the Nursery soon. 

I am an Assistant Headteacher at a primary school in Manchester, where I was also a staff governor for a number of years.  I am passionate about children's education and their development, and I believe that every child has the right to exceed their potential and reach their goals.  I wanted to become a parent governor to support and challenge the school to ensure high standards in all aspects of school life.

My name is Adam Ward and I live in Marple with my wife and two daughters.  My eldest attends Rose Hill and hopefully my youngest will too.

I work in financial services, leading a change function and designing/delivering strategic transformation programmes.  My strengths are stakeholder management, collaborating to achieve a common goal, empathy, commercial acumen and problem-solving.  I'm also passionate about education and am pleased to be part of this team!

My name is Chris Ollieuz and I have been working within the sports and education industry since 2012, delivering PE and coaching a variety of sports.  I have also spent a number of years at Premier league Football club delivering programmes both within the UK and globally to children from grass roots level to elite. 

In 2017 I set up my coaching business and we now work within a number of schools across Cheshire providing curriculum-based sports lessons, after-school clubs, teacher CPD and lunch time sports provision.  Along side this, myself and my team deliver Soccer Schools and Public Sports lessons to children in the evenings and at weekends.

I am passionate about giving young people as much access to sport as possible to ensure they get the best start in life.  I recently became a parent for the first time, which has made me more interested in supporting the local community and improving education in the Stockport area.  I have always had a very good relationship with the staff and pupils at Rose Hill Primary School, so I am keen to be more involved in the governance of the school and hope to help give each child as many opportunities as possible moving forward.

My name is Florence Pope and I became a co-opted governor at Rose Hill in December 2023.  My son has just started Reception and my daughter is currently at a local nursery.  I am excited to contribute to the life of the school and support the work of the teachers through my role. 

I work as an Assistant Headteacher at a large secondary school in Macclesfield where I oversee Staff Development and Teaching and Learning.  I am originally an English teacher and I still think teaching English is the best part of my day!  I now lead the school's whole school approach to reading which I really believe is one of the most vital parts of a child's education.  I also work with the HR department and think that recruiting and retaining the right staff is absolutely vital in sustaining and improving education in this country.  I look forward to contributing more to my local community by bringing some of this expertise to Rose Hill.
